A book about the water mills of the Bela in Cumbria and its surrounding area, this book is a source of both the flora and fauna, the wildlife and man’s intervention in this landscape. This publication is a gazetteer of the found research and visual material of artist Nell Dale during her artist residency at Heron Corn Mill.

It was a joy to work with the material supplied by Nell, layering, extracting and pacing both archival and contemporary material, interweaving quotes and creating flows of information.

Commissioned by Nell Dale and Heron Corn Mill.
